Nitrite is to high in my 55 gallon fish tank?

nitrites and nitrates are a normal cycle for the bacterial filtering process. the levels your saying will rise, then fall, then rise again a second time. this all takes place in a 6-7 week period. test daily till they drop the 2nd time then you will know the cycle is good and has taken hold. ph will stabilize once this has occured. keep water movement on surface of tank good as this is where oxygen is derived, not bubbles.
