Can someone get a shock(electric of static) while using a Doppler to hear baby's heartbeat? Please help!!!!?

I am about 16 weeks pregnant and we bought this bebe sounds Doppler from babies r us. We were trying to listen to the heart beat and baby kicks and the volume was high. I think I felt a mild shock and panic'd please help is this normal to feel shock or not possible? I hope everything is fine.
