What other utensils can i use to mix bread, cause i don't have the hook attachment for my mixer?

I want to make bread buns but i do not own the hook attachment for my mixer that this recipe asks for, can i use my hand? Also i don't have many fancy expensive kitchen equipment cause i don't normally cook but I have recently taken up interest in it. Any simple ideas would be really much appreciated. Thx.
