So what happened to this so called "Spanish world dominance"?

Before these matches everybody said that the Spanish teams and players are the best in the world and then the two best teams in their entire league both lose at home. I mean, what happened? One lost to a Russian team and one lost to an Italian team. So how does that make them the best in the world if they can't even beat teams from leagues that are worse then them? How are they gonna play when Chelsea or Arsenal come to play on their turfs?
